I just got a new headset with a split connection (pink for mic and green for speakers). It's split just like my last headset but my microphone isn't working quite right. The only thing the mic is picking up is my headphone audio but it's not echoing it. It's like it's actually taking the audio coming from my computer outright and using it as the microphone. Whatever I use, Discord, Skype, Teamspeak, they all are using the audio from my speaker as the microphone.

I've installed realtec audio manager and messed with a bunch of the settings but it's changed nothing. It won't pick up anything I say and it's outputting everything my computer hears in crystal clear audio. Almost like its a video coming from my friend's computer... I'm out of ideas to fix this.

Also the headset works fine on my laptop and phone so it's not faulty.

I would start by checking the audio devices and making sure the (analogue) mic is the input device. – GabrielaGarcia Nov 7 '18 at 10:16
